Manchester takes out London

Heading into Christmas, a look at how the top 6 EPL teams fare and what the future will hold:

Manchester United = 4.75/5
+ On top of the heap with a game in hand
+ Nani looking sharper by the day
+ Due to deliver (based on history): Rooney
+ Revelation: Berbatov highest scorer so far, Rafael
+ Chicharito, Park, O’Shea made a good bench
+ Entering into that phase of the season, where historically they do best
– Have conceded a few more goals than normal, although still have maximum clean sheets
Key players for next few months = Vidic, Nani
Arsenal = 4.25/5
+ Very much in title race
+ Revelations: Nasri, Chamakh, Fabianski
+ Quality bench strength in offense
+ Due to deliver (based on history) – RVP, Cesc
– Defense is worst amongst top four, summer transfers are yet to deliver
– Still an injury prone team, get them a new medical staff!!
– Cesc still looking at Barcelona, sooner than later
– A tough champions league R16 awaits them
– Discipline: have seen 3 red cards so far
Key players for next few months = Cesc, RVP
Manchester City = 4.5/5
+ Very much in title race
+ Revelations: Silva, Yaya Toure, Hart
+ Quality bench strength in midfield and defense
+ Carlos Tevez
+ Give the impression they are getting better by the day and grinding out results too
– Carlos Tevez’s frequent outbursts to quit club or game (normally he scores a brace a week after saying)
– Frequent camp disharmony: Johnson, Adebayor, Milner are not too happy on bench when Mancini’s preferred Ballotelli is sulking and embarrassing on the pitch
– Worst offensive team at home with just 8 goals, Goals sources very skewed
– Discipline: Have seen 3 red cards so far
– Are due for a dip phase
Key players for next few months = Tevez, Kompany
Chelsea = 4.25/5
+ Will remain in title race if they don’t allow United to win, this weekend
+ Revelations: Ivanovic, Kalou
+ Defense is still the best
+ Due to deliver (based on history) – Lampard, Essien
+ Getting over their dip phase
– Worry – Malouda & Anelka, the bad boys of WC 2010
– Heavy dependency on old boys, as new boys still not coming up the curve (Sturridge, Kakuta, Ramires)
– Mourinho hit them the first blow when he took out Ricardo Carvalho
Key players for next few months = Drogba, Lampard
Tottenham Hotspur = 4/5
+ Revelations: Van Der Vaart, Hutton
+ Excellent in Europe as group toppers
+ Due to deliver – Defoe, Modric
+ Redknapp refuses to compromise on their attacking style of play
– Falling away from top 4 race, look good for 5th place though
– Worry: Only one clean sheet
– Lack of exposure to Europe means they drop points every game they play after a mid week CL game
Key players for next few months = Bale, Defoe
Bolton Wanderers = 3.75/5
+ Revelations: Manager Owen Coyle & Strike Duo Elmander, Davies
+ Refreshing to see an unusual suspect break into top 6
+ Very attack minded, have scored more goals than Man City or Tottenham
– Score a lot at home, but give away a lot too at home
– Worry: Only one clean sheet
– Lack of bench strength means remaining in top 6 will be a challenge
Key players for next few months = Elmander, Lee
